Default CRX 16i 16v

Anyone heard of these? Its a dual exhaust crx, stock with a 1.6L dohc 16v engine. Im not sure of the specs on the engine though. 4 wheel disc brakes and such. Some of these models come with tiny back seats too, very odd.

Its a euro spec car, maybe japanese imported. They are sold over here in Belgium. Im picking one up on Saturday.

Is anyone familiar with the hp ratings of these engines? Or specs in general? Im a previous crx owner before I joined the military, but im unfamiliar with this particular one.

They are over here in Germany as well.

I bought mine stock, and it wasn't dual exhaust....i think the person you are buying from did that.

I believe the engine is a D16A6 or something similar...... but it is a Euro Spec

it is euro spec and probably LHD since your in mainland europe. they have about 125 hp and can either be the d16a8 or d16a9 engine. they all should have rear backseats. what year are you getting i could tell you a bit more...

That is a 2nd gen CRX. It came with the ZC 1.6 dohc non-vtec motor.

Yay, i can post again

Thanks guys for all the helpful information. Ive been researching the vehicle and have found some good info about it.

Im going to see it this evening, ill take some pics. I am hoping to get it for under $3k

Now, on to my next concern. Has anyone ever imported one of these to the US? I know SOME of the regulations concerning import requirements, and this vehicle doesnt seem to be black listed on the .gov sites for import stuff.

I know some of the things to change are the console (needs mph guage+kph), i need to add the side mirror that says "objects in mirror are closer than they appear", and all that. What else? I know there has to be some major stuff. Anyone know what kind of VIN# are on these? Can I get a wrecked crx VIN from the states and swap it out with this one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im hoping to keep this car for a very long time, and I want to be able to bring it back to the states with me when I PCS. I have 2 years to attain that goal...can anyone help?

Thanks to all!

you will need to change the doors, to have reinforced doors, the glass will have top be changed out.

The cost of converting the car, will outweigh the value of the car. I am getting ready to ETS and it would have cost me almost 2 grand to get it converted and registered in the US, the value of the car was only 1300-1400. If you really want to do it, just go to Transportation and ask them for their rules on importing a vehicle, and MP customs will help you out alot.

Good luck

if you are going to try and import a crx, get a 90-92 CRX 1.6i-VT or VT for short. Power everything, abs, leather interior, b16a1, the whole 9...plus you can get it in celestrial blue or vogue silver...

I hear ya man, im looking into the VT also. If this car ends up being cheap enough and clean enough though, im going for it. I have 2 years to get it ready, which should be no problem (hopefully)

Im going to talk to my transportation dept. and see what they have to say...plus contact some buddies back in the states and see if i can get a hook up.

Thanks for your help. I should be posting pics tomorrow since i just used my last post for my 24hour period.

Thanks all

The thing you are looking for is called EE8 (in germany).

It has ab B16A1 (vtec) with 150 HP stock, leather interieur but no ABS.
The "smaller" one is the ED9. No vtec - no leather and also no ABS.

I bought my EE8 100tkm first hand from an old lady for 4000€.
The EE8 was sold about 1200 times in germany - very rare !
The ED9 schould cost about 2500 - 3000 € with ~100tkm.

VT's do have abs, maybe not all of them, but they do come with it....all the ones i have read and saw pics of in the UK seem to have abs...

abs= ALB...

i guess mainland europe didnt get it...

Well, went to check out the car last night...

What a rolling, steaming pile of **** it turned out to be. Dude had a b16a swapped in, some HORRIBLE body kit that was barely hanging on, bad paint etc...

Not what im looking for. So, im taking your advice gator, im looking at getting a '91 vti. This weekend im heading to a couple dealers that have a few on the lot. Looking minimum 4000 euro, but maybe I can talk them down if i walk up with cash. Who knows.

Anyone selling one out here? Either way, thanks for all the help and advice. I didnt even want to break out the digicam for that pos, so ill get some pics of some better cars when i run across them.

Hey Daisy, you have any idea where I can pick one of those same cars up? Im willing to head to Germany if need be. This is gonna be a keeper car, something I plan on importing back to the states.

Everyone is welcome to add me to their messengers if you have any leads or helpful advice to give this g.i.

Thanks all!

not being a dick, but you want a VT, not a vti.

a vti is the eg model, not the ee
