I used to get that crap on my old GSR all the time. You can feel it if you slid your finger over it and you kind of have to scrap it off? If so, I was told its just crap in the rain and keeping a good coat of wax on it is the only way around it. You can clay bar the crap off, that was the only way i was able to do it on my GSR after it sat on there for a few months.

The specks are easily sprayed off with water... just wondered where they came from.

what i want to know, is what the hell is that **** that ends up on the top of my rear bumper when i drive my car too soon after washing?

 

Its carbon dirtied condensation from the exhaust....or burnt oil..

If you think thats bad..look at a friends FRONT bumper after driving behind me!! OOPS!!! (He was abour 4 car lengths behind too!)

 

i would say... brakes and what little bit of tires you had left. my black r had metalic flakes all down the sides and the back that was from my brakes. now it's time to upgrade the brakes!!

 

I would agree.... but there is an even distribution all the way across the bumper. If the specks were concentrated near the muffler side I would guess carbon build-up discharge.

This stuff was on the car for a week before it was washed off.

The Hawk blue residue on the doors... that is another story.

Mebbe it is just tyre and brake dust.
