Help:Takes awhile for engine to heat up!

Help:Takes awhile for engine to heat up!

-upper coolant hose is hot
-lower coolant hose is cool
-integra dual core radiator on b16
-if i put heat on full blast the engine temp drops
-car takes at least 15 min to reach operating temperature

Anyone know whats up?

yea...thats normal at idle.

is it normal to take so long to heat up? in winter my car wouldn't even reach operating temperature with the heat on,is the integra radiator THAT effecient?

Check your thermostat... that's the only thing that could be causing slow warmup.

I just had a similar problem, I replaced the thermostat with a new one from Honda and flushed the coolant.

It fixed the problem, so try a new thermostat and bleed it or flush it with new coolant.
