Default Getting creative with the stock intake

Hello,

So I decided to pull out the CAI this weekend and go back to the stock setup. I ended up leaving the resonator out however keeping the stock piping going from the resonator to the air intake in the engine bay. I guess I have a "homemade" comptech intake if you will.

My question is how much different is my homemade setup than the comptech setup other than the comptech having an upgraded air filter??

Not sure if this has been posted before (apologize if it has) but im just trying to figure out if its worth it to buy the comptech.

Thanks,

Steve

I think you got to take in account turbulance to determine if your setup is worth doing. from what i have researched taking out the resonator actually decreases hp. but i guess the only way you are gonna know is if u dyno your car.

I just finished reading a bunch of threads on the topic and it appears as if most of you suggest just putting in the stock resonator... Hmmm..

My question is then should I get the comptech? I had the AEM CAI and it just wasnt for me... I honestly liked stock.

ZenonDepot, would you elaborate on why the AEM CAI was "not for you"?

Honestly, I didnt like the loss of power on the low end. The car would bog and just didnt feel smooth. Up high the AEM definitley made a difference but I think that a comptech would be a better solution for me. It was also a little loud for me.... Ive had an AEM on my 2 previous integras but I honestly like driving my car stock but slammed ;-)
