uhm ya I just got a 79 honda bike dont know much about it, I think it's a cb600. can anyone post picks of diffrent honda bikes made in 79 so I can find out? carfax and the DMV dont go that far back. dont know what to do with it more inrested in a truck than a bike hehe but for free eh might be fun any help would be helpful

Ah, the good old CB's. Those are good beginner bikes. They're not too fast but decently quick for what it is. I ride my Dad's 81 CB750 Super Sport all the time, it's big and heavy but fun none the less. It's fast enough to pull away from my brother's mid 90's Ninja 500 which is also not that fast.

 

mos:that looks a little larger than the one I'm getting.

it needs a carb it's been sitting for atlest 8 years DMV has no records on it.

could it be a cb400? I'll know tonight since it's getting drop off here (if it's marked) and tell you more.

Free is good. Just give it a lil tune up and have fun. Give the dmv a call to find out how you can register it.

 

it'll take me 30min to get the title and reg's but, I might sell it so I can get my 7 running again (needs engine) or so I can by a truck dont know yet Depends on how much it cost to do everything (carb sparks tire(if needed) title reg ETc) Vs selling it. nice to have a bike for the gas mileage (only going to drive in town) vs my 7 (12mile per gallon!) don't know but for free it's gret deal I think

I used to ride a cb400 4. Lots of people love em. Got no torque though. Is it a twin or four?

Be cautious if its your first bike.

 

i wrecked a cb400 when i was 17. still have a numb spot on my right thigh from hitting the brake resivoir when i went over the bars. ahh memories...

Ouch, the CB's are heavy and I'd hate to have one fall on me. Especially the 750 I ride, that thing is like a tank.

 

i got a 78 cb400t..its a great beginner bike..its not that heavy...i bought mine from my friends uncle..it was sitting in his garage under a tarp for 5 years until i found it..i offered him 100 cash for it and next thing i know i spent 50 bucks for a battery 10 bucks for plugs and fuel and i was driving it....just last saturday i took the carbs off and cleaned them out really good and the thing halls *** now..i didnt replace any gaskets or anything..just took them apart,cleaned them and put them back together...night and day diffrence..yesterday i was ripping through a corn field in the mud and dumped it with my brother on the back...(noone was hurt and the bike stayed running perfectly)i pressure washed it and it looks great again (i wish i had the title cause it sucks not being able to drive it legally)

sounds really fun, i drove dirtbike and it was really fun. Plus you cant beat FREE!
