well what can i say? the break in period is over (i got this done ASAP!) this bike is EVERYTHING i ever wanted in a bike. handling, power, looks, egronomics... every other bike i ever had, had something that i wasnt 100% happy about... with teh ducati 748R it was the lack of upper end power(due to it being a L-twin) but i loved the balance and torque... with my GSXR750 SRAD it was the egronomics... i had to reach around my gas tank more than i wanted to... with my cbr 600F3 (great bike) but lacked the power i was used to. handled great and had really good egros... then my GSXR1000, it was pretty much the same feel as my 750.. once again reaching around the tank too much, but i loved the power.. well ican say im 100% happy with this bike, its very happy dragging pegs through the turns, VERY VERY awesome power delivery, looks sexy as a bitch( i got the blue color, i call it my yamasaki). balance is perfect....
for anyone who hasnt rode one of these wonderful machines... DO IT you will never regret it... and yes the editors in the mags are right about the specs.... i did 103(indicated)in 1st, and 189(also indicated) in top speed. i did the top speed on the track... i tried to tuck even more to squeeze 190 out of it but it didnt roll over.... i know i will have the haters once again tell me "oh the speedos WAYYYY off, and ****. but hey it read 189....its not going to be 5+mph or more off... ill post pics soon!

oh yea.... my track day was awesome! some of youlocal utah/nevada guys need to come with me sometime near vegas to the track... its sweet

 

Screw the haters! 170,180,189 mph is still fast so what does it matter. Atleast you did it on a track and not the streets.

I wasn't a big fan of the tach either. Should have went with Suzuki style setup on the instruments.

BTW the tachs and speedos can be WAAAY off...1000rpm at redline and 20mph at top speed wouldn't suprise me one bit.

 

Saw one in person for the first time today at the dealer, than again at another bike shop. Orange/black one, not bad. Talked to a buddy of mine who raced an 04 R1 with his built 01 Gixxer 1k. Says he took him, but stock R1 was right on him.

 

They had one at the shop I bought my bike from. I had enough credit line to buy it but it's way too much for my first bike.

I love how on H-T if someone doesn't like something they're a so called hater. I"m gonna paint my car bright pink with yellow stripes, and call everyone who thinks its ugly a hater so I can join the hater finger pointing crew... gimme a break.

Well you did single me Out...

I posted he was a, "HATER" (which is somthing a usually dont do) Because Someone Posted About how much they liked there Bike and that Guy Tried to Highlight something Negative!

Go ahead and paint your car Bright pnik with Yellow stripes, I would think its cool!

FWI- Yeah I guess the speedos are quite a bit off, no matter what the bike is... atleast at high speeds.

I had my Gixxer 1k up to 191 indicated anyway, but was told by many many people that the actual speed is somewhere around 180-185. I'm hoping to one day find the true top speed of the bike, I've heard of the closed airport runways that they set up radar units to find the true speed.

I have a TRE (timing retard eliminator) that will be installed today which takes the top speed limiter off the bike... I know I'll never hit 200 on a bike with less than 200 hp, but damn I'm gonna try!

Congrats on the bike though, it looks great. Checked one out in the showroom a few days ago. I don't know if I would go with the tach though, but to each his own.

 

well im going to get it radar tested soon, my friend owns a plane and is going to see if i can take it on the runway. the bike is FAST i mean eyeballs sucking into theback of your head (literaly) fast. i love it and i took some pics today ill post very soon

oh yea i love the tach its very readable.. and thats another thing i didnt like about my old gixxer

U couldnt read the gsxr tach good???

 

man i remember when i first heard about the zx-10r's. i have sit on them several times at the dealer. kawasakis have always felt good to me, and the zx-10r was no different. my feet felt nice and relaxed, rest of my body felt like it was in the correct position. the bike feels just as light as my 250 ninja, only with 4 times the motor. if i had the money to get the bike, and pay insurance, i would get one. but right now ill still have to stick to my 250 ninja, always looking for a cheap R6 or zx-6r though. congrats on the new bike man! glad to hear u enjoy it.

 

i have a feeling my tach is off on my cbr f2.
i went 145 and i still had room to go easily and it really didnt feel like it but who knows? it might of been nevr went 145 beforer. but i cruise at like 95 and feels more like 85 or so. cause when i go 80 im about the same as most cars and on the freeways and here they go about 70-75

plus my odometer seems off. i just baught the bike so maybe it has different sprockets...? seems to go through miles quicker then normal

 

hmm well i dont know waht to tell you about that.... did anyone see the new R1 tach? you cant read **** on it.. the speedo is WAY small

my buddy just bought a new zx-10r and all i have to say is nasty! he owned a gsxr1000 before and said the zx10r is just godly compaired to the gsxr.. Nothing like 5th gear roll on the gas wheelies.. The power is all the way from idle to the redline... very very impressive bike and he has it in the candy blue color.. mmm

 

Man I want to get one!!!!
