Default Does your Honda Accord's factory radio have a security code?

My '99 Accord LX's radio (a cassette deck, though I've hooked up an Alpine CD Changer) doesn't need a factory code, but I keep reading about people who have cars from this time frame that needs a security code. It was built in Japan, maybe that has something to do with it?

I'm just trying to figure out which cars have radios with security codes, and which dont.

Please tell me the year and model of your car, whether it's a cassette or CD player, and whether or not you need a security code.

Its looking like all CD players, and the older tape players ('97 and before?), need the code.

Anybody else with a cassette player that doesn't need the code? What year?

No offense, but you do know that you only need the code when you lose/disconnect power to the unit right?? And you only need to enter the code once, or at lease until the next time you lose power. Also FYI even my 94 LX had a code for the unit, but my 91 didn't have one.

Only factory installed radio's need a security code entry after the battery has been disconnected or the radio has been removed. Why would anyone want to steal a factory unit?

We've got an '03 Accord LX & it doesn't need a code. No mention of a code at all in the owner's manual (I just looked), & the manual covers all DX, LX, EX, & V6 cars including navigation.
