my friend has a 92 prelude non vtec with broken tranny and its
hard to find a prelude tranny so if you guys could clear up this matter

Yes, they are the same. a 1994-1997 will bolt up easier.. 1990-1993 you have to drill and tap tranny bolts...
your gear ratio will be really long if it was a SI..

yup coreys right,
at this moment i have a m2f4 h22 tranny bolted up to my f22b2/vtec in my sig , the f22b2 came out of a 96 accord and the m2f4 tranny is from a 94 vtec, it bolts up fine but i had to grind a tiny little nub off the block that lines up the accord tranny, but othe than that no problems at all.

its a 92 prelude
so that means that I could purchase a 90-93 accord auto tranny
and just drill and tap to line up the bolts...
