need help!!!! vtec's gone!!!!
alright i posted a thread a while ago on how my gsr smokes when vtec hit, so anyways i just took a long drive yesterday to do a delivery for work using my own car, a jdm b18c hatch, bolt ons and ctr cams untuned running a stock p72 ecu. I drove a about 200 miles there and back most of the time i was cruising on my first vtec doing about 90/95 most of the way, all was fine until my check engine light came on, and vtec wasnt hitting, i checked my oil levels to see if they were cool, i was short so i added some more oil and a vtec started to work again, this was yesterday, now when i hit vtec he goes off sometimes and doesnt do **** at all other times, also the car feels like its struggling really bad around between 7 and 8 thousand rpms, when vtec does hit it's interrupted meaning vtec will shut on and off between the time it takes to engage to redline, everytime vtec cuts off, i see a puff of whitish bluish smoke shoot out, you can even feel the car shoot it out, i know blue means oil, so does this mean that my rings have diffenently gone bad???
i think your computer is very smart by not letting you engaged vtec, belive it or not this safes a lot of peeps motors out there. well there is def something wrong with the motor, do a compression test, hear for any knocks, and if your adding more than 2 quarts a week def time for a rebuild.

Same thing happened to me. Replaced the pump with a new one and everything is fine now.
