ctr intake/gsr exhuast cam combo...does it work?
i heard that using a ctr intake cam and a gsr exhuast cam will make loads of power in a b series motor. im planing on using this setup after i finish building my ls/vtec shortblock.
does anyone have any information on this type of camshaft combo?
thanks

you'll make less power if you use the both CTR/ITR cams.
BTW, ITR exhaust cam= CTR exhaust cam
00-01 ITR intake cam = CTR intake cam

why would you make less power w/ ctr/itr cams set up? Isnt that just basically running 00-01 ITR cams?
I'm running the ctr intake cam and the stock gsr exhaust cam on my gsr....noticed a slight increase in power in the higher rpm's, but that was about it. I just recently bought an itr exhaust cam, and want to throw that in, but I want to wait and get valve springs and retainers for security purposes. Doing the ctr intake cam isnt a bad mod to do.....go for it

i've had both combos and my impressions are that the itr intake/gsr ex. combo definitely works and is a great upgrade over the gsr intake cam....made alot of midrange also
when i installed the itr exhaust cam it definitely shifted my power curve upwards.....topend gains were significant but midrange felt the same

why? GSr exhaust cam has less lift and duration. Its as simple as that.

I've seen dyno graphs of a B16 making 190+whp with a ITR int cam / GSR exhaust cam. This made signifiantly more power than Skunk Stg 2 on this motor.
Motor was BubbaBuilt and Tuned by TEAMGENDAI.

are you stating the potential of the ITR/GSR combo? Or are you stating that if he went with both ITR cams he would not have made as much power.

from what i've seen, B16s seem to not like anything above a CTR/ITR/stage 1 cam.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I've seen a 96 GSR dyno chart and he put down 170 whp and 130 torque after being tuned. His list of mods: Honda Integra R Intake Cam, Trust BL Exhaust, RS*R Ceramic Header, AEM Intake and AEM Cam Gears. Pretty impressive IMO.
why do people actually buy "stock parts" from other motors. **** that ****. upgrade the head with some isky valve springs and retainers and get a stage2 or stage 3 jun cams....
save your money for the better things...

its called honda reliability....from my experience and the **** ive seen.... they seem to last longer then aftermarket stuff...
besides one itr cam is about 250 bucks, go and buy a pair of toda spec bs and itll run you almost 1g. and now ur sacrificing a good idle and gas mileage on a street driven motor.....

I put a ctr intake camshaft, and an itr exhaust camshaft on both my b series and h series vtec all motors. The ctr/itr combo produced a 26hp increase... This was in my 1990 Jdm civic, and the same setup prduced a good 24 more horse power in my H22A prelude. So go for it

isn't the itr and gsr exhaust cam pretty much the same?
would it be even worth putting the itr exhaust cam?

so your saying...you put B series cams in an h22?
