you should try and make a trip down south about an hour to Miami if your gonna be in Ft. Lauderdale. Theres tons of stuff to do on South Beach. Ft.lauderdale is still chill but South Beach is where its at IMO. Theres a bunch of nice restaurants though in Ft. Liquordale. Houston's on the intercoastal on Atlantic Blvd. is nice for lunch and dinner. I'm sure some other people will give some more info. Cant think of anythin else right now
I'm pretty sure we will head to Miami. My aunt lives somewhere btwn Ft. Lauderdale/Miami.
My Aunt is in the FBI, so we were planning on checking out "the office"
, which I believe is located in Miami.. Once I finish my BS and work in my field for a while I may head that route.
Thanks for the help

Anyone else?? How far is Sebring from the Ft. Lauderdale area?
EDIT
Looks like its 137 miles from Orlando.. but the race schedule doesn't show anything going on until November

From Ft. Lauderdale its probably 2-3 hours give or take a few. Havent made the trip yet so dont know the exact time. Mapquest said 3 hours 7 minutes from my location which is little north of actual Ft. Lauderdale
I'm gonna assume you meant to say that you're visiting in June (06), not April (04). Correct me if I'm wrong.
Closest tracks to FTL are Moroso, Homestead, and Sebring.
Moroso is having an SCCA school that weekend, but it says no spectators. They have drag stuff there at night, too, if you're into that sort of thing.
Don't know of anything happening at Sebring that weekend, and it's a bit far to drive just for the hell of it. Likewise, don't know of anything happening at Homestead.
If you want to take a bit of a drive, there's a track event at a little test track over near Tampa: http://www.tamparacing.com/for...49634.
I'm not really into the nightlife stuff, but you can usually find something to do on Fort Lauderdale Beach and Las Olas Blvd. (downtown FTL, not far from the beach). And as others have mentioned, South Beach and Coconut Grove in Miami always have a lot going on. Just make sure you don't wander off the main roads in the Grove.

So you did go, cool, what day? I ended up going for a while on Sunday. The SM and ITS fields were pretty big, with some good racing. Some of the SM races were "interesting" to say the least.
That Chevron B16 was pretty amazing. I talked to the guy a little and he said he was only going about half speed, but he still put half a lap on the second place car in like 2 laps!

Yup I was there Saturday.
The SM field was huge. Those races were pretty entertaining, I can understand why they are so popular now.
on Sat there was a 4th gen Lude w/Red wheels doing very well in ITS
.
The chevron was yellow correct?
That car was very very quick, he was putting laps on everyone.
There was also what I believe is called a Lola?? which was very quick as well.
Ill post up some pics in the RR forum

The Prelude was white, right? If so, he had a really close race with the multicolored ITGT Mustang on Sunday.
Yeah, the Chevron car was the yellow prototype. I don't recall seeing a Lola, but if you have a picture of it I might remember it.

That would be the one. The guy in the Prelude had him for a while, but then overheated his tires and got passed. Almost caught him on the last lap, but couldn't quite pull it off. I was sitting next to the Prelude guy's spotter, so I got to hear all about it.
