I could be wrong but I think in this order (most to least clearance) 1.) JDM ITR 2.) Mugen 3.) Spoon - don't know where Toda would fit in (1 maybe)

Thanks, I havent scraped the Spoon (yet) and I'm going to a new header for clearance. Looks like the JDM is the way to go

I've been in a R (scooters) that scraped it's Mugen header. On H&R race springs. I haven't had any problems with the JDM ITR 4-1 on my GS-R which is lowered on ghetto threaded body coilovers (GCs) about 1.75-2"... knock on wood.

My spoon gives me good clearance but my car isnt lowered yet. I have about 5-6" clearance.

The Mugen 4-1 hangs slightly lower than the Spoon 4-2-1. (I've had both)

I recently had to have my car towed (alternator belt went bye bye) and noticed that the header sits very close to where the tow truck's lifter thingamabob (what's the name of that thing anyway?) goes between the two front wheels.

So, for those of you who have to tow their R's - get a flatbed if you can.

I'll try to get pictures in the near future...it has pretty good clearance. Here is the only picture that I currently have, it is from vagoITR's car.

Here's the clearance on my HiTech header... the clearance was actually better than my old DC-4-1... simply amazing! The header fits snug beside the tranny, and it is just a bit lower than the tranny.

I just finished a new style B20VTEC 4-2-1 header today that has primaries larger than any of the JDM headers. This header was built to be used with a modified Moroso oil pan. This customer had a used pan modified but I've already sent drawings to Moroso for a "SMS" spec B series oil pan and I'm waiting for pricing. This new pan will have more room between the sump and the bell housing allowing for the use of larger primaries for the bigger bored B engines. But if used on a B18 there would be more than ample room for the tubes to be tucked out of the way.

Per my header drawings the primaries should only be about 3/16" below the Moroso pan, however my customer used Hondabond instead of the oil pan gasket so the tubes will be a little lower. I hope to have some pictures of the header and oil pan in a day or so (I really need to buy a digital camera). The header will not be coated in the pictures so it won't be to purdy.

Thats great.
Do you know which header hangs lower, the Spoon, Mugen or JDM 4-1?

Thanks,
Demian

The ITR JDM hangs about 3/4" below the pan. The Mugen may be a little more since the design is similar (stacking of the tubes) but the tubes are a hair bigger. I haven't seen a Spoon but from what I've read and the fact that the tubes are bundles more "square" I suspect it hangs still a little lower.
