Default body damage

its getting tme to paint the eg6 and i have some body damage on the top of the driver and pass side right after the window pillers..
when the car was shipped it was tied down with metal cables and it pinched into the body pretty bad..
i could spend alot of time pounding and bondoing the spot to look right but i was thinking that i should just buy the body panels and have them welded/replaced.
this looks like its the parts i need.

either # 13 or 17.
doesnt look to be that expansive either..
just curious if anyones ever had this part of the car replaced and how difficult was it?. my buddy is a fabricator so hes good at welding.. but hes new at body work

If your doing the work yourself, go the bondo wrote.

If your having a shop do it have them weld that piece on.

im just curious how hard it is.. ive never really looks to close at the inner seams. but im assuming they are just tack welded together in certain spots and can be drilled out? and the new piece can be replaced and re welded.. kind of like a rad support.

Yea im pretty sure also but then again how good is your welding? Or would you spot weld it?

For big welding things i would take it to a shop because its easy as hell to get warpage (and i weld).

Atleast thats what i would do, but first i would see how deep it is and see if simple bondo would help it.

i would just use filler where its indented.. but since the metal is so thick in that area than when it was pressed in. theres a spot of metal that has a point that is raised up abouve the roof a little bit that would have to be pounded flat also since it was pinched now the body line to where the roof/piller meets the door isnt perfect.. the gap starts to get larger closer to the pinched area and id really prefer not to bondo an area like that on the corner cause it would probably chip
