Default NEED HOW-TO: Getting at 6x9's in 2000 Civic!!

I need to get at the 6x9's in my 2000 Civic Si in order to change them out with the Alpine ones I just got.

I'm told I have to take out the back seats, side panels, and upper deck to do it.

Anyone have a write-up or how-to? I heard it was a pain...

Definitely a pain in the ***.. But a necessary evil, I guess... You've been told correctly... Seats, side panels come out, then rear deck pops out... Set aside a good couple of hours if you've never done something like that before....

Just in case you didn't know, you're not going to use those grilles, unless you're planning on cutting your rear deck...

ive heard those same speakers powered by a big 4 channel amp in my friends 96 civic and they sounded great.. definatly a great speaker for as cheap as they are before going into the higher price ranges..

im 99.99999% sure they are not dual voice coil, the 2 inputs are seperated, one for the tweeter and one for the 6x9 cone. you can run them straight from seperate outputs of your amp (using the amp/radio crossovers, depending on what you have) or the crossover that comes with the speaker

1. Fold down both sections of rear seat. UN-bolt all 6 gold colored bolts (10 mm) that secure seat to brackets.
2. Remove side brackets (2-12 mm bolts)
3. remove 1-10mm bolt that secures seat bottom. Unclip front clips and remove.
4. Extract 1-philips screw from each lower portion of side panel.
5. Using panel popper to aide in removal, take out both side panels.
6. Now carefully remove rear deck cover without breaking white pressure clips.
7. There u have it in 20 min or less.

You won't need a panel popper, I had one handy and didn't even need it.

The process is real simple if you follow the directions posted above.

Mines a 99. I figured out the yellow stripe is +, white stripe is -,

I also removed my rear deck without removing the seats or side panels. Just unclip the side panels at the top and pull them back a little bit, the rear deck will pop right out.
