I found a car i kinda want to buy, but it has a spun bearing on the 4th rod? (i think thats what he told me) .. how hard is this to fix, i never done this, and how much is an estimated cost?

A machine shop can resize the rod if it's not beat up too bad. Otherwise it will need to be replaced. The crank journal will need to be checked out also.

 

If its minor then you can get the crank "cut" and run oversized bearings.

I don't suggest it, but thats just me I will never run a "cut" crank.

The crank is trash, and there is a slight chance the rod is too.

 

if the rod bearing spun, then the crank is trash, and the rod is trash

 

you will need a new rod, and crank, and have to find out what caused it to"spin" in the forst place
