Default Will 18" wheels fit??

I just got a 98 Civic coupe and was wondering if 18" wheels will fit? I was also wondering what the proper offset is for my car......I know these prolly seem like really dumb questions but I am just getting into the whole import scene and would like to know what to look for when I go to nuy my wheels. Any info would be great!

get ready and put on your flame suit, cuz its going to get pretty hot in here. 18" wheels will fit. if you want to lower your car, you're not going to get low at all, unless you have fender flares. those are a bit too big for a civic.

they will fit but tight, not sure if you would want rims that big on your civic, it will slow it down. not positive on off set though.

Cosmetic issues... You may be able to get away with it if you get the 18X7 wheels.

Have the mod move this thread to the cosmetic forums...

Just get 15s or 16s and save your money for some decent dampers...

well put... 18's are overkill on a Honda, unless its an s2k or NSX. They will just slow you down!

Seriously though. Not considering speed, your car will ride like **** with 18s..

i had 18s on my 240, it was terrible. Tires absorb much of the shock of bumps and such on the road, and if you have little rubberband tires, youre not getting much protection, so you feel EVERYTHING, especially if you have a lowered car.

I downgraded to 16s on my 240 and was SO MUCH happier

that said, i say get 16s, MAYBE 17s, but thats pushing it to me

This will fit with no rubs, the most you could lower it is 1-1.5 inches.
18x7.5
offset 42
tires 215/35

to answer your question Yes,you can put 18's on your civic with no problem...i personaly like 15's-16's...but some people are all about appearence, not performance. last time i checked there is a blue 6th gen hatch with 18's and it's getting nothing but love in the Appearence/Cosmetic forum. 1"-1.5"? you can slam the hell out of a 6th gen civic with 18's...i can't say it will ride good though.

that's a nice looking hatch btw. those 18" rims are too big. there were threads exactly like this. i'll say it again.

for a civic, i'd get 15" or 16" for performance, 17" max for show cars. 18" no way. period.

I personally did have 17" on my civic before...and it ride like nothing. with my 13" steelies, my car is on less weight pressure everytime i'm on the gas.

I believe another big factor on wheel size is where you drive. I wldn't wanna have a 40 series tire in NYC but I can get away with it in FL. BTW local shops just got 205/30/20 for the fellas who like that 4X4 Civic look.
