Default looking for cheap starter bike

I'm in the middle of a motorcycle training course this weekend, and I'm looking at a starter bike. Needs to be under $700. I really don't know what to look for; something reliable, like a Honda, and something that won't cost me an arm and a leg in parts when it keeps breakig (again, why I'm at the Honda forums). I checked my classifieds, but to no avail. Thanks.

The bike your gonna get for that kind of money isn't going to be very good, reliability with bikes isn't like it is with cars, almost all bikes companies are very compairitive with reliability, not like car companies....

look at saving ATLEAST $1500. $1000 for the bike and $500 in gear. I got my F2 for $1400. I found it off Craigslist. But any bike under $1000 is definitely gonna need some work Good luck
