Default Akra or Yosh?

The yamaha dealer called me today and said that they can't get the yoshimura rs-3 titanium for another 2 weeks (no idea why) they have offered me and akrapovic system for $100 more, I know akra is usally more money (200-300) and that was the runner up exhaust system for my bike. i am lookign for an exhaust that sounds real good but isn't stupid loud at highway speeds like a D&D. Also its gotta look nice, thing is ive never really heard an akra pipe at anythign more than idle, any suggestions?

depends on what you like to look at, like mellenium said, devil some people like but i think looks like cheap garbage...I love the look and sound of yoshimura, and i love the look of akrapovic but i am not sure abot the sound cause ive only heard a bike idle with that exhaust, hindles are very popular around here on the 600 RR's cause they are cheap and they sound good...its all just preference really i am just looking for some insight or maybe some sounds clips to help me decide

edit: does anyone know a site that has exhaust ratings and sounds ?? like a review site or something?

a good pipe for a 600RR is the jardine the way it sounds is what a sportbike SHOULD sound like.

Just because exhausts are expensive doesn't mean they are good.

+1

Dyno graphs are showing some good numbers from the Arata full titanium system matched up with a power commander and Dan Kyle map. Seen my friend install a couple of these systems. The bends are super smooth! I'm saving up for this set-up. Should have it on within two weeks.

As for the R6, Akra full system would be sweet if you can fork up the dough. If not, try looking into the Graves full titanium system. Their system kicks butt on R6's.

Micron can's sound really good on the R6. Has a deep sounding exhaust note. Definitley not quit though. Not as louder then Akra, but quiter then D&D. Some other good exhaust systems are:

1.) Sato
2.) Arata
3.) Moriwaki
4.) Ti-Force
5.) Blue Flame

Suzuki= Yoshirmura- I just got a full RS-3 system, nice and deep. Took a long time researching all. Akra/Micron are good, just too much $.

In all honesty, get whatever you like aesthetically and audibly. The 1hp you gain isn't worth the xtra few hundred or the wait for another pipe. If you are strictly seeking power, akra is incredible for all bikes, and yosh is top notch on a suzuki, so either would be great.

I am not worried about power, cause i know basically nothing comes from a slip-on. I am just looking for a nice looking pipe that sounds good but doesn't scream on highway to point where i get a headache on a 3 hour ride...I really like how the yosh titaniums look which is why it was my #1 and i think i might stick with it cause the arka isnt worth that kind of $$. The only problem is i can't tell what pipes sound like what otherwise i could prolly save myself some money =p

Most peoples thoughts... Also most people only see the black carbon one. The stainless is beutiful IMO.
