I finally got my wheels back from the paint booth. I did the prep work, and a family friend did the rest. They are painted and clear coated. The 57 is my dads BTW.

Mine are getting pretty beat up I would like to look into getting them repainted. Is there any way you could explain what prep work you did in order to get them ready for paint.
Also how much did it run you for paint if you dont mind me asking.

I just sanded out the chips, and smoothed out a couple of scuffs. Gave the rest a light sanding so the paint would stick. The actual paint, and labor only ran me 100.00.

Something about the '57 is just so appealling. The car is 40+ years old and still attracts the "Oh wow!" from people. I wonder if any non-exotic modern car will have the same "Oh wow!" factor 40 yrs from now.


Oh yeah, the wheels are a good paint job!!

 

i'd say a 1981 delorean will have the same "oh wow" factor if it was possible to keep it in mint condition
