Default Quick CTR 5-lug quesion

I ordered a CTR 5-lug conversion from H Motors Online. It does not include the rear shocks or springs. Right now, I just want the handling of a CTR and nothing more until I'm ready. With the CTR rear LCA's, will I be able to use CTR shocks in the rear?

I spent around an hour searching yesterday and PM'd a few people who have 5-lugs, but didn't get an answer.

TIA.

ctr rear lower control arm is the same as the ITR control arm, whcih means you can use the ITR/CTR or after market shocks. Your stock civic ones will not work, so before you dive into it, get some shocks.

actully NO... CTR rear LCAs are the same LCAs as used on every other 96-00 civic, no differnce whatsoever. ITR rear LCAs do not work on the EK chassis, and use a different shock type (as in fork area).

If you want the handling of a CTR, you'll need the following parts:

- CTR or Civic Si front LCAs, forks, & 26 mm swaybar
- Rear 22 mm swaybar - but be sure to get some kind of reinforcement kit
- CTR dampers/springs or even better, an aftermarket damper/spring combo
- Front strut & tower bar

I know what all the different pieces are already. I have everything now but the rear sway and strut bars which I am holding off on for now.

Are the front LCA of the EX the same as the Si or are they diff? I thinking of getting a front sway for my EJ.

They are different. The LCAs, forks, swaybar, & all mounting hardware are different between the EX & Si.

hmmm...can you back this up.

To my knowledge the whole setup is the same...but the front swaybar is thicker on the SI than on the EX.

The Si LCA is a 1 piece LCA compared to the two piece LCA found on the EX.

So yes they are different.

I know they have different mounting points for the sway bar so they bars may not be ineterchangable.

They are still the same design..and are interchangeable. As far as different mounting postions for the swaybar...i have never heard of that....can you please provide some info to back this up. thanks

Shipped to my house in TN, added front swaybar, no rear swaybar or rear shocks/springs = $1,173.

99 CTR shocks and springs = $240 shipped express

Every piece of my suspension will be replaced by its CTR counterpart so the only things I'll be lacking are the strut tie bars and the rear sway bar. Good enough for me now.

If the EX has a 2 piece LCA and the SI has a 1 piece how are they the same design?

I don't know how you want me to back that up? Go luck up the part numbers, they are not the same

By saying I do not know if they are interchangable i was refering to the sway bars. I do not know if you can mount the SI sway bar on the EX LCA's, and vise versa.

As far as the lca's go you may be right, i always thought they were the same because of the chassis being the same. And since the chassis are the same the Lca's would in turn have to be the same length/width/height...i know when i did my 5 lug swap the front ITR lca's would have worked(and they are one peice), But i know you are able to mount a stock ITR front sway bar on the stock EX setup.

He's right. I have CTR 5 lug on my car. The LCA's are the same as any USDM 96-00 Civic LCA, which is different than ITR's, or Integras all together.
