Default Interest in custom H23 rods by Scat?

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there that would be interested in Scat making some forged rods for the H23 motors. As anyone who has built an H23 has seen, there's only the expensive Crower rods to use in a built motor. There is not really any in-between, no cheaper forged alternative.

So I am waiting for the Scat representatives to get back from a meeting before calling back, and was curious as to what kind of interest there is. Scat is very well known in air-cooled performance VW motors, as well as performance Chevy's and Fords. They make all kinds of internal motor parts, and are very well known for their strong yet cheap I and H-beam forged rods.

Post up if you would consider buying a set!

Well I spoke w/ the Scat rep, and they aren't interested in making anything for any motors that aren't very popular......

Oh well, scratch that idea. If only there was a way to use an H22 rod in the H23 bottom end........

Damn, is there really nothing but Crower???....Prospeed Performance used to have some lightweight H23 rods, but now their site is down...

Horsepowerfreaks.com sells Pauter rods for H23 for $700....

I've also read of Probe rods being used, so I'm sure there are other options...

you can, all you have to do is have the wrist pin moved up on the piston...and that gives you a better r/s ratio then the h23.

Why bother...

http://store.ibspec.com/rods-i-beam-ultralite.html

http://store.ibspec.com/rods-h-beam.html

H23 rods in both heavy duty H beam and utrlite I beam...

Probe rods are damn good rods... When i worked for IB we churned out 400-650WHP motors running probe rods and never had a problem.... IB's rods are of the same quality, the main difference is the rod bolts used in the IB rods... SLightly better than Probes bolts

IB does but not so much anymore since they started selling their own.

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention that IB's rods are a little lighter than Probe... The gram weights should be on the site...

So how good are these IB rods?

Which i am looking to get rid of. which i ran w/ my turbo, just needs a set of pistons and is ready to go
