i need to install a camber kit on my 99 honda accord, does anybody have any instructions on how to install the camber kit, i have a general idea of what to do but i want to make sure of the process. THz

 

Take it to an alignment shop

 

the alignment shop wants like $150 to install the Front kit, which its not a $150 job to install a camber kit, so i want to put the kit on myself then take the car to get it aligned.

 

what kind did you get. ball joint or anchor bolts? imo it's simple to install either one. except i'd just bring the balljoint to someone to press out if you have the ball joint kit

 

i have the OBX ball joint camber kit, so i would need a ball joint kit to take out the factory ball joint???? and if so where could i get that from??

 

I put a set of adjustable balljoints in my civic. I used an air-chisel to knock out the stock balljoint(and big hammer will work also). The camber kit will bolt together so no special tools will be required.

You'll have to take it to an alignment shop anyways to get it aligned after the installation. Just have them do the installation.

the alignment shop will charge extra to install the camber kit + do the alignment

 

some camber kits require you to take them off to adjust them anyway. Either way you're going to get charged.

yeah balljoints (for suv's and such since ive never done a car before...) are easy to press out urself...3-4 hard swings with a hammer and they pop right out.

 

Take it to a performance shop. I went to a tire shop that does alignments and stuff, and the guy was like 'what tha ****' when he looked at the instructions. A performance shop that works with modified cars should know how to put it on. It's worth tha 100-175 or whatever they charge.

 

i paid a shop 65 bucks to install my camber kit...pretty much one hour of labor. then took it to get an alignment, which was another 50 bucks. pretty good deal, because i was gonna get an alignment somewhere else, and they wanted to charge 200 bucks...thats not even including adjusments to the camber kit

 

depending on ho wlow your car is u will have a problem (just the front camber kit). if u are dropping it more than 1.5 or 2 inches it will knock the hell out of your inner fender. i had that problem i have skunk 2 coil overs and i dumped the fron pretty low where the wheel is perfect the the wheel well. and when i got my camber kit they said i hd to rasie my car dam near stck for it to work properley without knocking. so i had to cut inside the metal and press the metal in, in the inner fender well so it would give more room for the camber kit to travel so it woudnt knock. i have a 2000 AV6 coupe.
