Certifit (Certi-fit) Radiator Core Support
Well, it's time to find me a new one since I'm tired of mine looking like an ^ and hood fitment going to crap. Anyways, Certifit quoted me for 32.75 for a 96-98 civic radiator support.
I wanted to know if anyone has gotten this part from them? All i hear/see are bumpers and fenders (which were paper thin). I'm worried that they may have skimped on the radiator support, making it thinner or whatnot.
It's 160 for the OEM support from hondaautomotiveparts.com, so there's about a 160 difference (if you factor in shipping, and wait time).

no rad support tho?
people get mixed reviews, but for 33 dollars, i really can't say no. keep in mind that i track this car once a month. so if certifit skimped on reinforcements, that's a nono.

oem support is stronger....
i bought a aftermarket taiwanese one and it sucks
oem support is stronger by where the jack point is.
the am one that's on my car now is a jacked up and bented because it's weak.

the certi-fit radiator support sucks. it's very thin. i used a jack to jack up the car and the whole thing bent. it moved the hood up and everything.
DONT GET IT. you'll thank yourself in the long run.

i don't see why you can't jack it in the front. a radiator support should be strong enough to jack up. imagine if it wasn't and you get into an accident. everything would be crushed.
get oem. can't go wrong.

A radiator support doesnt do **** for you in an accident.. Its only there to do what the name states.. support the radiator.. and also hold the hood down..
If you noticed your bumper support is bolted on to the frame rails not anywhere on the radiator support..
I never tried to jack up a car from the bottom of the radiator support.. even OEM doesnt look like it would hold..

no its not dude. I have a 99-00 OEM one right now, and the previous owner put a certi-fit 92-95 one on. They're both skinny as ****, and imho, $33 for a piece of thin metal is still $$
on certi-fit or fabbing your own if you're really worried about safety.

just finished installing my 92-95 core support from certifit and the fitment was good (even tho the car was in a nasty wreck before) but it did seem a little flimsy. also if you do get one, dont grab ahold of it too tight, i got a few pretty gruesome cuts from that bitch. now if only my corner lights and the bumper fit right i'd be set....
imo u cant go wrong with certifit

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't front ends supposed to crush to absorb the impact rather than withstand it and bounce off whatever you hit?
