H22 ef questions
Im about to drop an h22 into an ef hatch. I was just wondering if i should use the stock 13" steelies, or buy a set of prelude wheels and tires. Btw, this is going to be set up for 1/8 mile. And im guessing that the smaller 13" will have better acceleration than the 15"?
Thanks
Thanks
Bolt pattern on the prelude rims are different than the civic Im pretty sure of that. If youre going to run it on street tires definetely get 15 inch Just my two cents. BTW who did youre mounts?

the place kit. is just 2 brackets.. it doenst come with jack **** other then that.. it has to be fabed to work... u have to remove a huge section of the passenger side frame rail and fill it in with sheet metal and weld it all up.. its not a simple swap. or anything i reccomend trying to attempt at home.. we did one to our crx.. and it was a alot of work. and costed a **** load $$$$ (we wanted it to be perfect) I would never do that again..

I totally agree with max. I did this swap in my 88 dx hatch and it was a pain in the *** and way to much money. I used the place racing kit and it sucks. You have to pretty much fab the mount ur self. The passenger side frame does need to be cut and reinforced but that is not the least of ur worries. The way place designed the kit the axle line is not the greatest and the hood doesnt clear the motor. If you have any questions regaurding the swap hit me up

Unless you already have the H22 conversion I will also agree with the two past posts. The H22 swap is one of the hardest swap to do at a shop let alone a house. The welding, fittment and over all placement of the motor makes it hard to work on, and most of the parts are custom I.E. axles. What happens if you break one you would have to get another one made. Maybe think B-series, you can get just as much power out of a B as the H on the street -
Good Luck

its an 89 hatch...and probably the jdm if i can find one...
So should i maybe consider a b-series??

Maybe you should just LOOK into it - it might be the way to go. No to discount H series, I run H in my EG but thats much more straight forward. As for the EF body my thoughts would be B series

i take it, that, it wouldnt take as much modifications to get it to fit...And that maybe the axle's line up better?

In the EF shell the motor fits alot "nicer" if you will. You could even keep A/C if you wanted. The motor mounts are direct bolt in and less costly. Axles are simple straight out of 90-91 integra. And the wiring is very easy.

Wait wait wait.....a b18 will bolt straight up? or do you mean the aftermarket mounts bolt straight up?

Sorry, what I meant was a bolt in with a "kit." Unlike the H22 was a bolt in "kit" that is really a "weld in." I should have been more clear, just a side note the kit for b-series is only about 250.00 average and a linkage kit will run about 125.00 for both pieces. ----- the biggest part is no welding !
You also have to worry about the wiring. I had the worst time trying to get someone to fix miy harness after PLace butchered it. BUt James at Rage hooked it up and fixed one of my many problems with the wiring. Thanks again Rage
