Which 6X9 speakers?
I need some rear speakers in my civic 96. (6X9)
I don't have a lot of money to put, but let's say 150$
is the Infinity Kappa 693.5i my best choice? (139.99)
What other suggestions do you guys have( for the same price)?
Thanks a lot!

The pioneer compression horn TSA-6979 where awesome. They sounded way better than the factory pioneers when I had then in my civic. I could have sold them to you for $60 + shipping but I just recently sold them to my friend for his cavalier.
I don't understand why everyone on this board has a hard-on for infinity. They are ****. I really don't like Alpine.
Also remember removing the 6x9's in your car is a bitch. YOu have to pull all of the back out of your car including the following: (seats, side panels) NOt the most fun. Took me and my friend about 2 hours to get it all apart and back together properly the first time. Then the second time we did it to remove the speakers and dynamat it wasn't the most fun in the world. That day was strip the car to just the carpeting and start working on it. I must say losing all the seats, panels, make driving the car a little more interesting.

what's your suggestion then?
Would that be great :
- Infinity 63.5i in front
- Infinity 693.5i in rear
Also, what amp would be great to power those speakers? (a 4 or 2 chan amp)?
Maybe a 4 chan (2 chan for the speakers, and 2 for the subs?)
And which one? (not too expensive though)
Thanks a lot guys!

what does the rest of your system consist of?? i can tell you theres probably other places to spend the money where you will see more of an improvement. just because the car came with speakers in the back, it doesnt mean theres supposed to be some there

Good thing too, because most 6x9's fit like a bitch in the rear end of a 96-98 civic (my guess is the 99-2000 also). I had infinities in mine, and the torsion bars for the trunk lid hit against the magnet big time. I had to foam tape and electrical tape over the bars to keep them from wearing down the magnets (IE> they were chipping away at 'em every time you opened and closed the trunk). And those were only the references.... I'd love to see how the Type R's would fit lol

they are bad for your health??
they are bad for your health??
Well, I no pretty nothing about Car audio, but I just got that car 2 weeks ago.
In my last car, I had :
HU: Kenwood KDC-9017
Front speakers: 5 1/4 infinity Reference
Rear speakers: 6 1/2 infinity Reference
4 chan Amp: Pioneer ..... (don't remember) small 4 chan
subs: 4 Alpine XR
Mono Amp: Kenwood eXcelon KAC-X401M
I'm trying to sell it, and I wanna change pretty much everything.
The only thing I know, is the HU i'll probably get:
- Clarion DXZ835MP
Now I dunno if I should just put the subs I had (Alpine) or change, and what speakers to put. That was the purpose of my post.
But I'm kinda tired of hard bass, I want SQ. So what you suggest?
Is that HU good enough?
What speakers? If i put the reference in the front, and let's say the Kappa in the back, what amp would be great to power them?
Any suggestion would be appreciate!
Thanks
Felix

Then what should I get in the front; Component? Which model and brand?
Also, do you guys think the HU (Clarion DXZ835MP) is any good?
For the prize theZeb.com sells it : 219 (shipped). Is it a good deal?
Thanks a lot

I just looked at the Alpine 9830, what do you guys think between those two?
Alpine CDA-9830 269$ + shipping
Clarion DXZ835MP 219$
Does the ~75$ diffrence is worth it?
