DC Sports RACE Header for K-Series - - Lots of Pics!
I'm probably one of the first to receive their K-Series DC Sports Race Header, so I figured I'd take a few pics for everyone that's interested. The quality of the welds is very good and the ceramic finish is flawless. I will post reviews of the performance as soon as it's installed, probably tomorrow or Sunday. According to some independent tests I've seen, this header outperforms the Comptech Race Header by a few horsepower. The best part is the price....I paid $285 shipped for this one...typically it's priced around $300-$350 shipped...still a great deal for a race header, compared to prices of $600-1200 depending on brand. Hope you enjoy the pics:

i know that you need the o2's because you have to replace the cat with a test pipe but is the Casper o2 just the o2 that goes with the test pipe so your check engine light doesn't come on. And what test pipe are you going to run, does it include one like the JR?

There is no need for a test pipe. The Race Header eliminates the cat, it's all one piece and bolts right up to your midpipe (cat-back exhaust). The part that is circled is where the stock cat would be.
Casper's is an O2 simulator. You plug in your stock O2 sensors into the header and then plug the O2 simulator inline w/ the wiring that goes from the O2 sensor to the ECU. It shows the ECU the signal needed to keep the Check Engine Light OFF.

If you havent already placed your order, you're probably out of luck.
They are on backorder already.
And there is a huge waiting list.
DC says the next batch is already spoken for.
It's gonna be a WHILE unless you can find some place that ordered a bunch and still has some.
I think Hondawerx had 1 left last i heard.

yea good question. last i rember, i thought they were transforming the laws that if you have an ODBII and as long as the CEL doesn't show, they pass u. if your CEL does show, u get 2 more chances.
Quick question, what is the diameter on the outlet?
DC definitely did a great job on the header. I don't know how anyone stateside can pass this up for the price. I'm still happy I picked up the Toda, but much props to DC.

Great looking header, and now I'm a little confused, if I get this and plug in the O2 sensors, I'll get a check engine light?

Depends on your locality.
In Virginia, the rural and home counties have inspectors who will pass a header through the visual inspection, but these inspections are mainly for safety related items.
In places like Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, and others, there is an emissions test that a vehicle with the DC header will clearly not pass.

Get the Race Header and keep your stock header. When it comes time for emissions just switch them out. That is what I plan on doing with my car once I get the race header.
I do not understand why people sell thier stock header once they get a race header. When it comes time to go for emissions they will not pass and they begin the search for a stock header. Trust me you do not want to buy a stock header from the dealership.
