I am able to heel/toe with stock pedals since I practiced on my former Mugen pedal set.

This is my pedal set now... As you can see, I directed the brake pedal to 1 o`clock position, just like I did in the pic above. This setting supports revmatching.
This OMP set worked outstanding for me on track two weeks ago.

So, yes... those pedals help a lot

i learned on mugen pedals too, now i can use the stock pedals just as well.
those omp look really close, have you ever inadvertantly hit the brake while accelerating or vice versa?

This is my setup for 2 years now and makes heel toe almost effortless (actually toe heel or the side step) as long as I don't lose the brakes then heel toe reverts back to the old classic way.
Only people with big honkin feet like my brother that aren't used to driving with pedals like those have issues, mostly with revving the throttle.
You choose the pedal position BTW, it can be closer or further apart.

It's integral for downshifting and applying the brakes properly when neccessary as in coming from a high speed straight into a tight corner.

It happened to me, I hit the gas with the right edge of my shoe together with the brake pedal.... When I wear racing shoes, which are very slim, there`s no problem... This pedal setting is only for my personal needs.. Another guy might choose a little more space between brake and gas.. Those pedals are adjustable.

What is so special here ? Stock is a basic... you can improve to make them fit your needs better. If stock is best for you...well, may it be. But to say they are best in general is not true.

or...like some of us do....screw rev matching and let the jolt that you send through the drive train during the corner unsettle the car so you can fishtail and impress all the watcher bys as you attempt to avoid untimely demise.
