I just realized i have a small oil leak at the tip of the head...where the head meets the block. How can i fix it? Can i just seal it with silicone sealant from the outside?

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?
Tip of the head where the head meets the block? rofl.
Oh just like the toes on my hands.
Your question makes no sense.
Im going to take a guess you're tlaking about your valve cover which is notrious for doing. In this case, you take your cover off go to Honda buy a valve cover gasket ~8 bucks (Oh and get some plug o-rings too just cause it's a saftey measure ~ 4 bucks) and a tube of Hondabond ~12 bucks. Then replace the gasket(s) and put the Hondabond on the corners of the cam seal(s).

no, i know what a valve cover is. i dont know how to describe this...but its leaking from the head.

the left side, no camera.

If its on the passenger side its either the valve cover gasket, dizzy o-ring, or vtec solenoid gasket. For me it was the vtec solenoid gasket.

Yes this guy is right...i have this type of leak.

This may in fact be the case...but look into the cheapest/easiest thing first. Comp. check will tell.

I just fixed this same probem on my car. It is the head gasket and it will need to be replaced. Its also a good time to consider using a thinner gasket, to try and pick up any little bit of extra compression that you can. Don't forger that you shouldn't reuse your head bolt, and will be a lot better off to just replace them (all 10).

He's clearly talking about the head gasket ("where the head and block meet").
I have always had a small amount of oil sepage from the front left corner of the block, where there's a corner of the HG poking out. I doesnt come out enough to ever drip or run down the block, but it does reappear if I wipe it away.
It's not a big deal, unless you have coolant in your oil or oil in your coolant, you should maybe try a compression check.

By using a thinner gasket you can accomplish two things:
1. Less space between the head and block, thus a tighter seal and less chance of seepage.
2. Slightly increased compression ratio, due to the piston having to travel a shorter distance to reach TDC.
The y8 gasket is used on the D16s, but if your running a D15 JDM like me, APEX makes a great graphite gasket that will be thinner than stock.
Hope this helps,

dam is it possible to loose compression...having a "bad" head gasket with just a little bit of oil leak at the corner?

what do they mean by taking out the "middle" layer of the d16y8 head gasket to bump up the compression? How many layers does a head gasket have? I thought it was just a peice like a intake or a exhaust gasket?
