Honda Integra Type R

An automobile to most people is a means of transportation that will take them from one point to the next in a timely fashion. To the import enthusiast however, their automobile is a way of life. An enthusiast is defined as one who is ardently absorbed in an interest or pursuit. When an import enthusiast purchases a car, they have a world of transformation possibilities that run wild in his or her mind. Modifying a car can be as simple as slapping a flashy emblem on its rear and installing a loud muffler. To the import enthusiast however, modifying a car is a construction of the automobile that never was, with the talent and taste of a crafty guru. It isn’t easy to construct an automobile that makes others drool and smile simultaneously, but it became evident to the crowd that it can be done. On September 6, 2003, the first prize-winning automobile of the “Hot Import Nights” car show was an eye catcher in Boston’s dimly lit Exposition Center. It was a 2001 Honda Integra Type R imported directly from its origin of Japan. It was perfect. From its flawless exterior and beautifully accented interior to its spotless engine bay, this car proved to be the greatest modified import automobile that had ever laid rubber on the floors of the Expo Center.

Its off-white exterior glimmered in the light from the dark ceiling boasting that it was not a site to be overlooked. It’s exterior was waxed to perfection and its rare bronze Mugen MF10 wheels wrapped in low profile Bridgestone black rubber glared with excellence. The Tien Flex full body coil over suspension helped the Type R sit low to the ground with an aggressive stance in order to handle and stick to tight corners like the bubblegum thrown in a younger sibling’s hair. Its body was sleek with the addition of rare Mugen rear and under spoilers giving the Type R a factory-modified presentation. The exhaust gases were expelled through a muffler branded with the same name on its shining tailpipe that sat below the rear bumper. The side-view mirrors were the retracting type that with the push of a button, fold like a gambler with a bad hand in black jack. Visions of onlookers in awe were seen in its lightly tinted glass and one piece, high intensity discharge headlamps. Its front end featured a carbon fiber hood with perfect strands of black fiber woven to perfection and held to the exterior with gunmetal Cusco hood pins. It was known in a split-second that this car was as fast as it looked with the glimpse of the large front-mounted, silver intercooler visible through the front bumper as if it was the beautiful smile of a fashion model acknowledged by all. As fellow enthusiasts moved closer to this car, the anticipation of what is inside it makes their hearts beat like drums of a marching band.

The doors of the coupe were left open for everyone to peek inside. The interior was as clean as a fresh suite at your favorite hotel. Attention was consumed at first by the array of blue and green-lit gauges on the dashboard. The dash was bright as day and serving the purpose of warning the driver of vital information regarding his automobile’s operation. The dashboard was fitted with carbon fiber covered air vents that matched the two door handles and shifter console perfectly. Above rested the broadview mirror that spoke words of the Japanese Domestic Market. The shift boot matched the steering wheel and above it rested the feather-light titanium shift **** mounted to the chrome shifter. The Momo steering wheel was a true feature that is only found in the Type R of Japan. It was wrapped in black leather, held together with red stitching and sported the red Honda “H” in its center. The armrest ensured the public of the auto’s breed by displaying an emblem stamped, “01’ Spec R” in plastic-bordered aluminum. The Type R’s red suede and black stitched Recaro racing seats and matching red carpet gave the interior a healthy contrast from its black dashboard and interior paneling. The virgin back seats were black suede and untouched. The inside of this car made it seem as if one had been looking into a different world with the rarities that an import enthusiast could only dream of. Another glimpse at the various gauges that sat embedded in the dashboard brought forth the engine bay’s calling for recognition.

Standing before the engine bay, viewers stand in silence. The ever so many features could have kept one there for hours admiring the expensive goodies and configuration of parts that were before them. The motor was enhanced using only the best components known throughout the world and was spotless; so clean one could eat off of it. It spoke to the viewers the words of the sign that stood beside the car; “Do Not Touch.” The top of the motor bragged Type R with its red valve cover and brushed silver lettering. The motor supported a polished exhaust manifold with a Silver 38mm Tial wastegate above, and a t3/t4 hybrid turbocharger from Turbonetics below. This combination of three parts was as rare as could be and drew much attention along with the HKS performance air filter that let the beastly motor breathe its best. The turbo down pipe was wider than a soda can to the enthusiasts’ delight. Red silicon vacuum lines connected the system together and rendezvous at the black anodized intake manifold toward the back of the engine bay. The charge piping was a series of polished aluminum tubing that housed the new HKS blow off valve that when under high boost pressures was known by the enthusiast to screech like a falcon in full attack. The engine compartment made a fool of the competing cars and if it had to speak for the car itself, it would have been as cocky as a champion telling the rest of the competition that the prize had been won.

The 2001 Honda Integra Type R built by a devoted enthusiast was well deserving of the blue ribbon. The ability of admiring such a beautiful car inside and out was a dream come true. Top of the line ingredients yield a top-notch product, and the winner of the 2003 “Hot Import Nights” in Boston, Massachusetts was fair proof. From its rare exterior aero equipment and bronze wheels, to its flashy gauges and disturbingly large turbocharger, the Honda Integra Type R won more than just first prize. That work of art and symbol of dedication won a spot in the hearts of the serious import enthusiasts who laid eyes on such an automobile.

I just found this while searching through old documents. It was for my first semester English class and I had to write "Descriptive Essay"

or ?

The son of a bitch gave me a B+ ... He didnt like me though cause i never went to class. It was supposed to be a descriptive essay (hence graded upn description), I think it was DESCRIPTIVE! My professor was a bastard and hes gone now cause he ***** with everyones grades and doesnt grade accordingly (he had a TON of complaints, I should have made one). My professor this semester asked me for some past work cause she adores my writing and she said it is at LEAST deserving of an A. "not one mistake and detail is astounding" she said. to Professors with lack of love for the R

Maybe the first teacher gave you a B+ because not everyone out there knows what a 35mm Tial wastegate or Turbonetics T3/T4 turbo, etc.... is. That would be my best guess. That and the metaphors weren't the most creative or well thought out in the world, but brought mild humor to the piece none the less. It was pretty well written for a first year English description.

On a side not aren't the Ti shift ***** counterweighted and kinda heavy?

Not one mistake? SEVERAL mistakes. You also have a great deal of akward usage.

The bubble gum analogy and the black jack "fold" are both forced metaphors. Looks like you're trying too hard to use "writing" techniques taught in your English class.

If I were grading it, I'd probably give you a C+,

your 2nd professor is dumb. I found several errors:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Derek14 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
It's exterior was waxed to perfection and its rare bronze Mugen MF10 wheels wrapped in low profile Bridgestone black rubber glared with excellence. </TD></TR></TABLE>

2 errors in that sentence alone.
1) It's = it is, You should have "ITS exterior was waxed...." not It's
2) there MUST be a comma after the word "perfection" or you have a run on.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Derek14 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Its front end featured a carbon fiber hood with perfect strands of black fiber woven to perfection and held to the exterior with gunmetal Cusco hood pins.</TD></TR></TABLE>

the verb "held" goes back to the front end. So you're saying "The front end held to the exterior with gunmental hood pins" And that doesn't make sense.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Derek14 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
The motor was enhanced using only the best components known throughout the world and was spotless; so clean one could eat off of it.</TD></TR></TABLE>

1) Incorrect usage of semicolon. You could use a colon here instead or dashes
"The motor was enhanced using only the best components known throught the world and was spotless--so clean one could eat off of it.
2) Cliche...so clean you could eat off of it....
