Problem with intsall of springs
i went to install my neuspeed race springs tonight and we got the fronts in fine but the rears fucked. The bolt holding the bottom of the strut in is frozen in the bushing and we snapped it tryin to get it out. The other side is frozen too. So now i have to order 2 new bushings and 2 new bolts. My car is sittin like a ramp now. Has this happened to anyone before? If so what did you do? Oh yeah i have a 2000 GS.
yea common problem happened to my friend too, he ended up taking it somewhere to get it out. Search though theres plenty of threads on it and how to get it out. You can drill it out, PB blast it A LOT and maybe JB weld the bolt back together and try it, I doubt it though. May have to take it somewhere. Def. read up though for more options, good luck
it happened to me last week. It's very common because rain and salt freeze up the bushing. You need to take the lower control arm off then bend the bottom part of the strut to break it free of the control arm. You will need new shocks. The dust caps made be frozen as well. It that is the case then cut them off with a saw or something. It sucks but no other choice really
