i have a coustic xm-6 but they arent on them now, waiting to run them on one side of my amp and then using a seperate channel on the x over for them
and HELL NO they are not powered by the deck
a punch 160.4 amp is playing the mids and tweets, i was thinking of using it just for the tweets

ok
so if 20-30 watts is enough for tweeters i should get an amp that pushes 20 -30 watts?
that would be kind of hard
couldnt i just turn down my 160.4 and use it just for 4 tweeters

Exactly..... Get in your ride, turn amp gains all the way down. Turn your deck up most of the way(say max volume is 30, go to 27-28). Put in a nice, cleanly recorded track(no burned cd's). Slowly turn up the amp gains until it barely starts to distort, then back it off a little. Depending on the tweeters, set the crossover.
