Default question about better traction-60ft times

what are all the (serious) drag racers on this board doing for better traction.
already have 24.5x8x13 slicks and bogarts
accord rear springs
polyurethane kit in entire front end
bars from lower control arms to radiator support(like comp engineering)
front coil overs

occasionly have hit a 1.73 60ft. friends say i spin the first 60 ft.any ideas welcome

Try the Skunk2 drag launch kit. I think they put soft sprongs in the front and like 900 pound rear springs. paul (FIxAlpha) has a set on his Civic and the launches feel great. The rear doesn't squat. If your car is full race, U can weld a stock shock so that there is no compression in the rear at all.

9" wide tires and wheelie bars is all that you need as long as you are not getting any wheel hop.

Stiffen up your motor mounts if you ARE getting wheel hop. Wheelie bar is a great item!

wheel hop is not a problem. what about adjustable front shocks and front suspension limiters

Also try the Z10 radius arms, or something like that. They can preload your front suspension.

Those look great, but do they fit with a JDM front end? All the pictures I've seen look like they bolt on to the radiator support somehow.

If they're all suspension and don't bolt to the frame, it would be gravy.

hey whats up everyone, ill speak for the z10 bars that they do lower your 60ft times. and im not just saying that cause i work here im saying it cause of a some pro that uses them that loves them and a bunch of racers that love them more then their mothers. The product simply works, and thats that, would we make something that serves no purpose, now what fun would that be.. lol have fun guys

would these radius arms make much of a difference for a street car? street tires, regular street suspension, just like 10psi out of the hole? on regular pavement? or are they meant for mostly drag cars?

they will actually make a huge difference on street cars, particularly if you get wheelhop when shifting hard into gear. They work equally well for a road course car as a drag car as turn in response is increased and control arm stability is dramatically improved.

If you get a chance, search the archives as many of the users of the kit are pretty happy with it. I personally use the arms on my turbo street car and have hit a 1.98 60 with 555r's. Obviously the 60s were better on slicks.

I havent had an opportunity to get some times on the new motor which will put down a bit more power, but i can assure you they work very well for a street car application. When we originally prototyped the bars we had the intention of making a product that can be bolted onto a street car and be "invisible" until you need to use them. This is apparent as during normal driving you cant feel them, but once you really get on it, the rock solid stability of the front end feels very secure. If you have any other quesitons email me at geoff@z10eng.com

Hey Viren. The way i set them up on your car is probably the max you would want to go to. If you want to try to get some more negative caster, Roger Foo posted about swapping the Left and Right side upper control arms with one another. I think that will give you even more negative caster and allow you to launch even harder as it loads the suspension up on the launch. I am not 100% sure about what swapping the arms around will do exactly, but i know if anyone is gonna try it out, it will probably be you... Just an idea. Either way play around with the arms, Ive gone up to 5 turns and played around but i usually settle on 3. If you want me to, i can setup a pair of arms with you that are a little bit shorter so you can run crazy amounts of preload, but that would be a Drag only setup. Talk to you later
