Default problems with tokico blues and H&R sports

I am having a problem with my H&R sport springs and my tokico blue struts. On my 98 civic EX, there is a horrible thudd thudd sound every time i go over a bump. Small or large...doesnt matter. It sounds so bad. The noise is worse since my trunk is gutted...but i just wanted to know if i need to cut the bumpstops? or what...i have heard alittle about cutting the bumpstops...and wonder if that will help.

It just sounds like something is rickety as hell back there. it only happens in the back, and the front rides perfectly fine. Other than that perablah, i like the combo.

any help guys? thanks.

it sounds like you're bottoming out. if you didn't cut the bumpstops, that might be the problem, you need to cut them in half when lowering your car. try that

Bump stops could be too long, especially stock hard rubber ones that can steal 2 or 3 inches of travel. Bump stops should benefit the car, not make it worse.

Yes you need to cut your bumpstops. By bottoming out, he meant that the shock can only compress so far before they hit the bumpstops. Thats probably the clunking you hear.
