No speakers, system, spare tire, back seat, exhaust, reinforcement bars, hood wieghs nothing
Tires: gsr blades on back with good tires, cheap steelies with cheap tires on front.
Ok i need to kno what tires to run.... i wish i had some nice tires, and i need to kno what tire pressure to run..

Why in the hell do you have good wheels an tires in the back? It's a FWD car for christs sake.
You need to figure out what is best for your car yourself. Take it to the track and run it and see what works best.

Practice your launch before the race.
Keep engine warm, not hot before race. i.e. Normal operating temp, so VTEC can engage...
Heat those tires up!
Drop PSI...
I would recommend launching no higher than 4K, since your cheap, I mean, you don't have good tires..

with a low hp car, thoose rims, i would run 25-26psi.
also...
remove your ac, and ps, thoose will save you weight and give you a nice little *** boost of hp. Change your oil, and.... umm.. tighten your throttle cable... ?

My god man, switch those tires out to the front ones. Also, if you have the stock wheels and the tires have tread, put those on there instead. I'm sure you may have already done this, but take out the A/C belt and power steering belt....ummmm....Make sure your clutch isn't hot......pray......lower the tire psi.....pray.....you could advance the timing if you wanted.....get some octane booster and what not.....that's about all the cheap stuff I can think of....good luck man, give em hell

Why would I be joking?
Do you understand the concept of friction which produces heat which in turn allows the rubber to grip more efficiently?
Or are you just being sarcastic since he is running shitty tires?

If he heats up stock tires...they won't grip as well. If anything...he should try feathering the clutch and gas while he's launching so he has minimal spin and maintains his RPM's. Stock tires get really shitty if you heat them up too much.
I typically launch at 3500...hold the RPM's steady at 4k-4500...for about a second till the tires grip...then I give it full throttle right as they grip. Works like a charm.

I've always dragged with my tires at 20psi. I do a quick 6-8k dump after turning AROUND the waterbox. Then I launch around 4000-6000 and slip/feather the clutch for the best 60s. Got a 2.01 on Azenis a few years ago.
Just be consistent, high school drags is just bracket racing. So, put all that crap you took off back on. You're going to look retarded running high 15s/low 16s in a stripped Civic. Seriously.

Heating up radials will do nothing for him.
If he had slicks it would be a different story.

Apparently YOU don't understand the concept. STREET tires are designed to not heat up very much. If you do heat up street tires, not only do you lose grip but it might be dangerous because you could screw up the tire/the car/yourself.

Haha thanks for all the comments..
I have my blades on the back because im trying not to wear all the tread off... steelies were on the front just to **** around.
20 psi.... sounds good. My ac, and ps is all removed, so im ok there.
I probably wont 'heat' up my tires because most of you say not to.
My car will probably look and sound ALOT faster than it is.... and to all you WA people that will be there... yes my car is slow, i hope i make it to the 15's
Thanks for all the comments

The track is going to be in absolute **** condition so don't think they'll be cleaning it well or spraying that **** down. And for christ's sake why do have steelies with shitty tires up front? Just keep the good tires on, no reason to hurt yourself because you can't hit consistent 60's on **** tires.

Street tires are designed to have optimal grip under normal driving conditions...which is at a fairly low temp. Slick, Drag Radials, and Ultra High Performance tires are designed to have optimal grip at higher temperatures...this is due to their softer, stickier compounds.
So by heating up street tires...you are taking them past their optimal temp and making them greasy and slick. Ever wonder why when you drive hard with street tires they get really lose really quick?
And for some first hand experience...
Back in the day when I was racing my stealth...I would hook up best on my first 2 runs...and after that...the tires would be warmed up so much from the launch and skirting inbetween gears, that when it came time to slow down...the brakes would lock up(no ABS) becuase the tires were so hot that they had no traction. They had gone past their optimal temperature.

My HS nationals are tommrow too.
Other then running on a low tank of gas (gas=about 4-5lbs per gallon. Full tank (11 gallons) thats 55lbs. Run 2, thats 10. big diffrence) I totally stripped my inteiror. Will basicly be running with a Dash, 1 seat, and belt. Today since I was nice out, I finally pulled out my sound deading material (6.4 lbs WOOwoo)
Hopefully I can run a constant 14.9

i guess so? but basically they have high school drags each year at pacific raceways. where all the cars from different high schools come and compete against eachother in bracket racing. i suppose it's their way of trying to keep kids off the streets and on the track.
