Default is the shift linkage suppose to be loose?

Hey, I installed a short shifter with some energy suspension bushings a few weeks ago and it's been rattling ever since. Well today i went under my car to see if i tighten everything up correctly and notice the shift linkage feels loose. Is this normal?? I think this is where all the rattling is coming from.

Mine does the same. I think I may swith back to my stock shifter because I tend to grind the gears alot with the skunk2.

my shift linkage is pretty taught. you might want to make sure it isnt the linkage hitting the exhaust piping.
