JDM SRS Wheel - Will it Ever be Straight?
Question for those of you with the JDM SRS steering wheel - is it possible to get it perfectly straight? I've dinked around with that thing more than I care to mention and I cannot get it perfectly straight - there doesn't seem to be a notch that will allow it to be centered.
It isn't off by much, but enough that I know it isn't straight and it bothers me a bit...

It sounds like you are having the same problem that I had. It's strange because my friend Justin had his align perfectly without any adustments.
You'll need to get an alignment - it's possible to adjust the steering wheel without changing the wheel alignment. My local Acura dealership fixed mine so I can't explain specifically how the procedure is done.

jack up the front of the car, loosen up the jam nuts on each tie rod, turn each tie rod 1/4 or 1/2 turn (one in, the other out) tighten up the jam nuts, and take a lap around the block to see if it's straight, repeat as needed to get it straight. as long as you turn both sides the exact same amount it will not affect your overall alignment.

mine hangs, er turned to the left a bit to go straight. Each steering wheel i've put on is different, oem, momo hub, mugen hub and now jdm srs wheel.

I'm in the same boat...i took off my SiR-G non SRS wheel which was 100% straight and put on the jdm SRS type R wheel and cable reel and it is off one notch to the left and no matter what it wont go straight. Is it me for some reason or do i need and alignment too? it was perfect before but i can't get this damn thing 100% straight after 4 tries and i'm getting sick of trying lol.

It worked perfect on my car once upon a time.
Now, it's off. I took it off, 'cuz I hate driving w/ crooked *** streering wheel. I hate working on cars now.
Jon - get an alignment done w/ the new steering wheel. They will correct the toe to get it straight.

When Hung and I put his steering wheel on, it was a tad crooked but we straightened it out by doing an alignment.

Then of course you do realize that after you correct it that way, the steering wheel can turn farther one way than the other right?</TD></TR></TABLE>
because that 1/16" of travel at full lock really makes a difference...

I have a 94 4door and when I put my jdm srs steering wheel on, it was really off! (pointing to the left pillar) So after I modified it (took the 4 cap hex screws off and drilled new holes) my steering wheel is perfectly straight! did anyone have this problem???
also the airbag connector was different! I wanted to just solder them together but I don't want my expensive sterring wheel blowing in my face!
