Default Direct Engine Swap..

Hey, I have a 90 accord and it burns too much gas and goes through oil quickly, so I figured it's about time I get a new engine in it... I was wondering which engines that are 150HP+ can just directly swap with the engine in it now (f22a1).
I want to spend around $2000 ($1500 US) on a used engine with under 100 000km (60 000 miles). Anyone know any engines that would directly swap with mine? I don't want to have to replace the distributor, altenator, or anything close to that... Help is appreciated!

Probably your 2 best bets would the engines from a 5th gen accord - the F22b1 (vtec) or F22b2 (non-vtec) - both have around the hp rating your looking for and would be a direct bolt in.

Thanks... I was looking at the H22a but that was way too much money for me... f22b1 would be nice since the engine i have now is vtec...

Now here's the tricky part, where to find one in canada

1990 accord don't have a vtec. only the 93 accord ex have vtec.
in my opinion u should rebuild ur engine(forced introduction) then u can turbo that f22a engine of urs

I thought the first f22 vtec was 5th gen accords.

Well, it says VTEC on my engine... so I'm assuming it IS vtec?

I'll check out http://www.evogarage.com ... let's hope shipping isn't more than $500

It would be more cost efficient to put a new one in probably.
