Default Cerwin Vega subs, who has them?

im looking into upgrading my boom booms. now willing to spend $$$$ but willing to spend $$ (around 100 each) i've had good experiances with cerwin vega's and jus want to know if anyone else have ran them.

in the past i had a vega series 12inch and currently on IT 10's. now im looking into the v-max series. any comments or suggestions on a different brand sub?

how about the alpine type R's also DVC or SVC?

Cerwin Vega filed for Chapter 11. So be wary about them. Who knows who long they will be around. The Stroker series was awesome for SPL. But those seem to be more than what you are looking to spend. My suggestion for you is to see if you can find a store that will let you try out a couple of different subs in your car. I know where I go they let me try out 6 different subs in my car. I had each one in for a week and then had to make a decision. It was great to have a comparison.

I personally love Boston Acoustics. The new 12's that they are coming out with called the GT-5 are fully servicable which is a really nice touch. I think they are going to be retailing for $300 a piece though. Something to look at.

The Diamond Audio M3 are good subs. It was the #3 in my ranking of the 6 that I tried.

I have a Type R , 320 wrms going to it. sounds great for how little power. I choose it over JL12w3.

cerwin was purchased by another high end audio company, but still has their own engineers and etc.

Remember, Cerwin's big end stuff is for concerts and stuff. The car audio is just a little side branch of what they make

their products should still be availible from http://www.woofersetc.com

damn its kinda hard which sub to get. the cerwin vega v-max are inexpensive and looks like it'll move air,
not too sure about the type R's or anyother subs i've seen (jl, infinity, kicker, RF)

this is the cerwin vega v-max, only thing i dont like is the surround is made of foam. it probably wont last too long compared to rubber. what you think?
