i have a b16. i just raced a type s, 1st gear pulled fine, 2nd fine, 3rd started out ok but when it hit 7k and 8k rpm it started feeling weak and the check engine light came on. around town i go into vtec occasionally and no problems feels strong and no check engine light. it seems to happen only in 3rd. the same thing happened last week in 3rd gear but i didn't think anything of it cause i didn't feel the power loss. what might be the problem. im thinking maybe after vtec in 1st and 2nd, by 3rd gear its not getting enough oil pressure or maybe not enough fuel. i really dont know. thanks

 

one more thing, last week after the light came on i got my mech to look at it, code 22.

 

code 22 is v-tech pressure i believe. so your on the right track. do you have an oil pres. guage? did you check your oil level? just some stuff to think about. good luck.
