I would like to know this also.. If they dont provide motorcycle parking, i park on the sidewalk kinda out of the way.. i have done it 3 times now.. never a ticket.. always for 2-3 hours at a time.. Its up to the peoples property your parking it on.. Get me? LIke i always do it at the movie theater, a cop cant roll buy and give me a ticket for it cause im on THEIR property.. NOW, if the theater didnt like it, they could call someone to come give me aticket im sure...

You are a motor vehicle just like a car you can take you chances parking were you shouldn't or park in the lot like a car (legally parked). A bike lot or special spaces for bikes are just that special and not required. Thank the places that have them.

It is illegal and you will get ticketed by some a**hole cop. I saw this guys bike getting towed off on a flat bed. Sucks for him. I am not saying I don't park on the sidewalk, I do but you just need to pick and choose carefully.
No building will want any motorcyle parked in front on their sidewalks because if someone trips or hurt themselves by your motorcycle they can get sued
I do it when I go to the gym or restaurants at the shore... in NYC, I believe you have to have it covered and locked, so they can't tow or get your plate number (basically they're not allowed to lift up the cover and find your plate). But to answer your question, not its not technically legal... you can't park a car on the sidewalk right? Motorcycles follow the same rules
