How can I repair my AEm?!
hello,
So I removed my AEM CAI for winter... I want to repair it cause its pretty fucked up!!! as you can see on the pics... plus there is other scratch, holes, etc.. closer to the trothle body and batterie. I ordered some motor mount insert to prevent that to happen again... but I need to repair that thing... any idea how I could repair it?!
Also... after im done with that thing... I was thinking about putting some thermon rap(SP?) on the intake... what do you thinl?!

Is that damage from the A/C line? If so, the only way to prevent that from happening is to use zip-ties. Zip tie the AEM intake away from the A/C line and zip-tie the A/C line to the line next to it.
As far as fixing the AEM, I would just get 500-1300 deg high temp paint instead of thermorap. It looks cleaner and it only costs ~$6.00 for 1 can. G'luck.

what you see on the pic was cause I didnt install the AEM properly the first time and it was rubbing in the hole to the wheel. I fixed that... but now it was hitting something near the battery. There is some "bump" in the intake... scratches, etc... its ugly!
and I really dont give a damn about look
it could be pink... if its working right I dont care!!!

the same thing happened to my AEM after i took it of my 00 GS it, i ended up just selling the CAI if i had a second choice i wouldve just bought a comptech icebox
i wasn't even aware there was a rubbing problem with aem's? but then again i don't have a/c...
are u saying there is a hole in the pipe? so that means the engine has been breathing unfiltered air all this time?

Same thing had to my friends SI. It was rubbing so much that when, he took it out of the car too. The damm intake pipe was cut half way. He just bought other one, and fixed the problem. So, it wouldn't happen again. Good luck on trying to repair it. If that was me! I would just say, F**K it! Buy other intake or put my OEM one back on and save up for this.

Hey...looks just like a set of webers... except with the fuel transfer on the outside.
Take the AEM tube to a body shop... they have all the expensive repair compound to fix the gash... That would be cheaper than trying to buy the stuff and easier than fixing it yourself...
