I have a 1992 accord ex top speed with stock engine and tranny, the only modification is a GREDDY cat-back exhaust. I was wondering what the top-end speed was for this car. Mainly I am asking about the 89 Accord because some guy was telling me that his stock 89 accord 5-speed would go 130mph. All he has done to it is a flow master exhaust and a rear spoiler. I was just wondering if he was blowing smoke or what because he also tried to tell me that the spoiler made his car faster, even though it obviously adds weight to the car. I searched the forums and couldn't find a topic that told this, but I'm sorry if their is one and I missed it. Thanks for any help.

 

Lol, the rear spoiler won't do much for going faster, may be better for control at speeds over 100, but it probably slowed him down because it weighed more. I'd call BS...but who knows

 

actually 3rd gen accords are known to get to 130 pretty easy particullarly the carbed versions because of their 3.86 gearing. Also, I dont know about the 4gs but the 3gs do not have a speed governor.

<FONT COLOR="royalblue"> Honds USDM Ecu's do not have governors, just rev limiters. </FONT>
