Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem in their DC2R as I'm currently having, and what it might be caused by...
3rd gear pops into neutral when cornering left, even at low speeds, but not when turning right... or when accelerating and turning left. Only under deceleration when turning left!! It doesn't fully drop into neutral either - just to "almost in gear" so you can hear it just start to grind...
Any ideas? I've got it booked in to my Honda dealer on friday, but I'm unsure of what they'll find... so I'd like to know if anyone has heard of the prob before...
Cheers

I wouldn't have thought a Syncro would have caused this?
Anyway... I guess basically the general consensus is that it's a problem within the box, as i've checked the linkages etc, and my engine mounts appear ok...
But I don't understand why it's when turning left? hmmm...
I haven't really tried holding the gear in when turning left either... I'll try that tonight.
Thanks guys... any more help much appreciated!

My GSR did that a long time ago...it would pop out of 5th while I was on a 1hr long trip back from raleigh.!!
When I held it in 5th you could feel it want to puch out the min you let go....and the fastest I could go was 60mph ALL the way Home!
Any faster it would push so hard my hand hurt from holding it for longer than 20 mins+
But no problems to report w/ the R though..hope it dosen't happen again.
BTW I had an aftermarket clutch in my GSR which is what I thought may have been the Beginning of the cause of it!

oh yeah I forgot.....it was the Oil.
So we think....they guy that installed my Clutch took it back in and put new oil in it,..and then It quit.
Although,..my GSR tranny would get quite Musshy on long drives,...and it would scare me that it was gonna do it again!
<---Mr.Fairlady's GSR was a Nightmare!
(LS/VTEC JRSupercharged) w/ tons of Bolt ons. problems galore when a ******' Redneck does your Motor swap!!!!
Never again...I will only take it to people I trust and will Fix it if it takes a ****!!

i had a gear that popped out under heavy braking, turned out the guy who put my transmission back in forgot one of the tranny bolts.

Got my car back from the Honda dealer today. They spoke to Honda Au, who suggested it was a bent shift fork/rod on third gear. They reckon the repair including new syncro's will be less than $1000 (Aust).
Now I can relax a little, and order my lightweight flywheel and cerametallic clutch. *grins*

It used to gring into 3rd at one stage, but it's stopped doing that for a while now.
So basically, the Synchro on 3rd is rooted, but It'll get replaced....
