First week with new bike
At this time last Thursday I picked up my 2004 CBR 600RR.
Never rode a day in my life before that. Today i took it on its first real ride. I was out for about 30 minutes and loved every minute of it.
I know it wasa bad bike to start on, but i am taking my time and learning all about it before i really rip into it. on hit about 55mph so far.

Nice bike, and taking it easy till you get used to the bike is a good idea. You will have plenty of time to tear into it, for now just work on keeping your skin attached to your body.
You won't regret buying the bike, enjoy.

I think a sport bike would be a bit more challenging for a first bike, less forgiving at slower speeds, more radical powerbands, ability the ability to go faster than you should till you get used to what you or the bike are capable of. Also, if you are going to drop the bike you would rather have it be a regular street bike or at least and older sport bike. But if you are set on this class of bike and a 600 then I say the CBR would be a good choice. I have a 2002 F4i and love it.

have fun and be safe
