what are common problems with 91 accords?
my buddy is going to sell me his 91 accord for super cheap, he told me it needed a little work to pass inspection. Just wanted to get a heads up on what are typical problems associated with this particular model.
p.s. he told me it needed a new muffler and a couple other little things.
p.s.s. I can do all the work myself, and Its just gonna be a beater car for my DSM.

I have a high milage 1992 Accord, and some of the problems that I have had are:
-Bad CV's on my half shafts
-Replaced distributor
-Slight valve ticking (easy to fix)
-Cracked vaccum lines
But, my car does have 200K on it, so these parts are not uncommon to have to replace.

My 93 Accord LX has had the following problems:
-Brake master cylinder
-Radiator (3x)
-Leaky rack-and-pinion
-Distributor O-ring leak
-Balance shaft seal walking
-Cracked CV boots
My old (and wrecked) 90 Accord EX had:
-Brake master cylinder
-Radiator (1x)
-Automatic seatbelts failing in "open" position
-Leaky rack-and-pinion
-Bad Clearcoat
-Cracked CV boots
You'll notice some things in common with both cars.

Common problem with 4th gen accords is for some reason when you floor it... its still slow. Thats how my Auto CB7 was anyway lol
Honestly though, I had all these problems with mine.

My 92 accord ex has 250,500 miles on it. All major parts are the original ones. I've had to replace the A/C compressor, CV boot(recent), master cylinderX2(one recent one about 5 years ago), other than that its just had basic maintance. The CV boot was right after I got new rims and tires put on and I think the guys their cut it becasuse it was the afternoon after I had them put on that it happened. Accords are tough little cars if you treat them pretty good.
