I know about using the "search" function, power-to-weight ratios, what they usually dyno at, etc. My question, for those who have personal knowlege, i.e. those who are not just specualting, is this: Does the 97 and up NSX fall prey to the Japanese tendancy to underrate hp #'s? Looking at some of the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, and taking into account the weight of the car, it seems like 290 hp isn't necessarily accurate as an average (taking into account every motor is a little bit different). Of course gearing comes into play, but nontheless I am curious (especially now that I own one). Anybody care to agree/disagree/explain what they know about this theory?

No.
No.
ak posted a link to a the NSteXpo 2002 Dyno Report in this recent thread. There were 4 normally aspirated 3.2L NSXs that ran that day. Based on an average of about 260 WHP, the manufacturer rating of 290 HP at the crank seems about right.

Not until you put it on a dyno, correct?
