Default Pacesetter Headers for civic or crx

Has anybody used a pacesetter header for their hondas? I'm looking for the 88-91 civic or crx. I'm wondering how good or not good they are. I know they're cheap, but some power figures would be very helpfull. Thanks

People around here have MANY disagreements about which they can get really worked up. These would include D-series vs B-series, B16A vs ZC, B16A vs LS, and VTEC vs non-VTEC. But there is at least one thing about which everyone can agree: PACESETTER IS CRAP! If there has every been a unanimous vote of no confidence on anything in the world of Honda high performance, it is Pacesetter.

Well for the most part I figured pacesetter was junk. Do you guys also consider their header back exhaust to be junk? Or does that not matter as much as the Header does in the persuit for increased power?

Hey STAN, I was wondering if you have any pics of what that Chikara header looks like? It's 120 at Jeg's now.

Thanks.

My friend had a pacesetter. There were holes in the welds. You could feel jets of air shooting out in 5 different places. JUNK!!!!

Its funny though they did dyno test on these headers and they lost horsepower when compared to the stock exhaust manifold.

Well I know now from all your posts that the headers suck, BUT what about the cat back exhausts? Does this really matter? Can an after market catback hurt your performance? I mean other then having small piping, or not mandrel bent, or having many bends in the line, but can a straight back, cat back exhaust mess up the performance?

Does pacesetters cat back also blow?

I've got the pacesetter catback on my crx right now. The only miff I have about it is that the muffler itself is getting rusty. Of course, I live in Maine and it's gone through two winters and we use plenty of salt here.

It does only use like 2" piping, but for a n/a sohc crx, that's not a problem, almost ideal. The large tip is kinda gay, haha, but then again, look at the thermal kit etc, they have the same gay type tip. I'll be replacing it with a cheap thrush muffler soon but probably keep the piping for a while since it seems to be in good condition still and it is mandrel bent.
the insides of the pacesetter muffler itself is no different than a flowmaster or thrush muffler, they're all baffled and very similar so I doubt that it's caused any loss in power.
