Default Q: Replacing Piston Rings

Car is going through oil like mad and is sluggish. Saw multiple posts saying how piston rings are probably going bad so I'm contemplating doing it on my own. Is this procedure easy? Can you use standard tools? How long is the procedure?

your basiccally ripping apart the whole block right there.. there are many many things that must be torqued in stepped sequences or you could suffer engine damage. definatly not somehting to rush if its your first time. figure about a week's time if your not working all day.
