I think your comment is a bit of what people call "blanket statement". There are some people that prepered CW rims over Gunmetal rims.
I'm not looking for an argument. I'm just point out the fact.

Gunmetal rims DO generally sell for more than CW rims, assuming equivalent condition.
Sure, some people prefer CW rims. But the price is a function of supply and demand - and it is what it is; while you can speculate about the reasons, GM rims in excellent condition often sell for over $500, and CW rims don't.

Mostly because CW wheels on a PY, FBP or NBP usually look like A$$!
Whereas White wheels on a white car have a sense of cohesion/OEM look.
Actually, GM or Bronze Volks/Mugens look very nice on a CW as well, but I digress ...
