Default Safety mods <---- HELP PLEASE!!!

ARGH! I'm 17 and i screwed my firebird. damnit! now i don't have a car. It's really my dad's fault for taking **** care of it. The problem now is, when his little civic got run over by a 3 ton raised F350, so my parents are hella paranoid on letting me own a japanese car.

NOW THE GOOD NEWS. My parents had me drive the firebird cause it had a long 'nose' so if i crashed i'd live So they want to buy a car that looks like it. Now, it happens that they think a GSR LOOKS LIKE FIREBIRD...haha good for me ;] The only prob is, they think it still isn't safe because it's 2600 pounds. So now i'm looking up safety mods to convince them a little nippon car is just is safe as a bigger car.

so, please help me by listing all the performance mods and your opinion of the best manufacturer, in three catagories:
SAFETY (i don't care, even list roll cages , crossbars, seats, whatever)
HANDLING (Sway bars, etc)
BRAKES
and any non-engine performance mod.
I've already managed to convince my dad to pay for a 500 dollar cf hood and a wing under the assumptions that they make the car safer to drive...LMAO it will actually make it more dangerous cause i'll want to drive faster

THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE for helping a spoiled chinese kid get a gsr and getting his parents to pay for thousands in mods...peace out.

Well, first of all, you're parents obviously love you and are only worried about your safety. Taking advantage of that and using that as an excuse to mod your car..uhm...hehe.

Why don't you take a defensive driving class? This will help you become a better driver, your parents will be relieved to some extent, and you pay less insurance.

Since all GS-R's come with ABS and SRS I don't really see any other "safety mods".

Oh yeah, Drive responsively once you get your GS-R!

Not all handling mods will help you, unless you know how to drive. Better brakes are always a plus. Screw the CF hood and wing. Wings suck. CF is going to look at **** after homos at school key it.

San Ramon eh? What school do you go to?

That is very very n0t true. My friend was hit on the passenger side, and the door was completely caved in. If he had a passenger, the person would most likely have been dead.

If you want safety get an autopower 4 point roll bar. YOu will only loose your back seats.

Better brakes are another very good option.

but, these mods will only help somewhat.

The absolute best best thing you can do is, go to a driving school. I have been to the jim russell and school at the thunderhill course.

I would recomend going to thunderhill.

Ask your parents which aspect they are worried about?

you can not prevent getting hit by a drunk driver going through an intersection. you are trashed either way. there are very few vehicles that would save you in that circumstance.

what school do you go to?
i live in danville and go to las positas

feel free to im me

YOU SUCK! You take your parents concern for your safety and turn around and lie to them in thier face so when you die they'll blame themselves.

You want the best safety mod for your car in the Bay Area? Tell your parents to send you to the Skip Barber defensive driving school at Sears Point! Seriously! I mean it! All cars are dangerous no matter what the size. But nothing beats a well prepared defensive driver that knows how to handle dangerous situations. http://www.skipbarber.com (?) Plus it is very fun!

I joined the local National Auto Sport Assoc. (NASA) and ran T-Hill and Sears Point road courses with an instructor and I am a more confident and competent driver.

Good luck!

here is the best safety mod..tell them not to let u have a car cuz ur too stupid and dont derserve to even ride a bike. if u wreck ur first car and BLAME it on ur dad for not taking car of it u dont deserve to even look at a teg.

You can take precautions but when it's your time to go it doesn't matter if your in a tank or a racecar, your gone. Live life, have fun, be a good person and don't worry.

How safe is any sports car against a large SUV? My bet for saftey would be the SUV or something like a Volvo. If you want sport and more of a safe looking car check out the stats on a WRX.

Yeah, buy a Volvo if your biggest concern is safety.

Or a huge Ford truck with a lift kit.

And yes, you are an idiot for taking advantage of your parents. Their only concern for you is to keep you safe, yet you make blatant lies for your own gains.
